Okay, this one is going to need some explanation.
I’ve had this idea for a while for a crossover story in which Zuko goes to the universe of the Crystal Gems and is turned into a crystal gem himself. He befriends Steven and the Crystal Gems after saving them and they help him learn about his new powers. He eventually accepts them as his friends and helps them through their battles, eventually going back to his own world with them and using their combined powers along with the Gaang to defeat his father.
All that said, it’s a concept I doubt I’ll ever write, however the idea of Zuko with a Gem is still an appealing one, so I decided to create GemZudramon instead. I took some inspiration for his design from Lapis Lazuli with the fire wings, spine and sword. He gets to his form thanks to the help of another Crystal Dragon Man Digimon who gave up the last of her power to help him save the others from the destructive hands of KingPhoenixmon. His Digivolution heals his scar and instead gains the horns, marking and gem tail that confirms his identity as a Crystal Dragon.
